Gwent pupils thankful for television slot

When Gwent students Simon Antoniw and Sally Lloyd heard about an appeal for people to appear in a programme about the ultimate Britney Spears fans they knew they fitted the bill perfectly.

After contacting the programme's crew and revealing all about their love for the pop star, the friends, who both study musical theatre at Coleg Gwent Cross Keys, will now be two of the main stars on the BBC Three documentary 'Britney Spears Saved My Life'.

The programme, directed by Oscar-winning film maker Vikram Jayanti, sees hundreds of fans join together to recreate the video to the star's first number one single 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'. Eleven of the fans then talk about their love for the star.

Mr Antoniw, 21 of Bassaleg, said: "We absolutely love Britney. For us it is all about her music and we even call ourselves Brit One and Brit Two so we decided to contact the programme.

"It was a great experience and the film crew were brilliant. They only had chance to ask us about three questions because we just wouldn't shut up when talking about her.

"Taking part in the dance was also brilliant. We all dressed up in school uniform and it was great to meet other Britney fans."
