The pop princess - who underwent a personal and very public breakdown during 2007 and 2008 - is said to have documented her troubled past in a series of diaries - which have now gone missing.

A source tells the National Enquirer, "Britney is in a panic over the stolen journals and video interviews done during some of the darkest days of her life.

"She wants desperately to tell her side for her boys.

"She wants them to know the truth - her truth."
